I’m curious. I love the current edition of C&T and have found it an excellent game for running action oriented sword and sorcery. So what will be the difference with the new edition? If we are talking just some adjustments then I have to wonder what the purpose is. But I have to confess that the new cover is much more evocative then the previous.
Depends on how fully the KS goes. The Basic goal sees a streamlining of the rules, some new rules, a vigrous edit, cleaning up of the layout, and every piece of art replaced by the cover artist. Its why I’m using the ‘Remastered’ title for it. If we hit stretch goals then I add new content; spells , monsters, magic items, new GM’s advice and tools. The rule book is currently about 140 and I can easily see it going to 200-220 if we hit goals.
And yes its still a S&W varient.
I’ll admit, you have my attention. I’ve found C&T to be one of the best Sword and Sorcery games on the market. And being a variant of Swords and Wizardry, it was easy to find material that could be adapted to the game. From the changes you are describing it sounds like C&T will be made even better. Count me in on supporting the KS.
I’m in!
Where does the line start?
I’d like to see C&T style trap rules, ritual magic (particularly summoning magic), expanded appendices especially on Weird Lands and Khaos!, ship and mass combat including siege, slightly expanded skill rules (maybe Akrasia’s background skill rules)…whatever you can add without compromising the playability, which is pretty much spot on now.
This has been one of the most fun to run rpgs I have ever had the pleasure to use. Color me VERY excited to see an expanded version… and I have some spare money in my tin that will definitely be headed your way when this gets going. Can’t wait!!!
Has a start time for the KickStarter been determined? Meaning a specific time on March 1st? I ask because I would like to get my pledge n as soon as possible.
So just curious, how much different will this version be from the previous printing? Love the new cover though, it looks awesome.
